Winter has come to the Pyrenees with snow in the high mountains and the north faces. Here around Berga this is prime mountain bike season for the local riders with knowledge of what trails are dry and in good conditions. We are also spending time going over some of our most popular trails and doing some maintenance to make sure they are in perfect condition for our visitors.
Personally, coming from the northern parts of Sweden, this is my favourite time of the year. The ski resorts are open so we can choose between skiing, mountain biking, hiking or heading down towards the coast or Barcelona. While the other major mountain bike destinations like Puro Pirineo, Andorra and Vall d’Aran are under snow and Ainsa can have very cold days we can keep enjoying even our big rides (1500 vertical meters) all winter long.
